Archive 001 follows Wells's central characters, chapter sequence, conflicts, major inventions and revised ending. Graham, Ostrog, Helen Wotton, the Council, the Moving Ways and the novel's political struggle originate with Wells.

Where the site retells the story in modern prose, the intention is to make the narrative accessible to a new reader while preserving the source's structure and ideas.

The Sleeper Archive's new illustrations, visual system, archive framing, website design, adaptation text, production journal, card layouts, packaging concepts and project branding are newly created material.

The phrase “Everything Discarded Has Value.” is a project tagline. It is not a quotation from H. G. Wells.
