THELEEPER ARCHIVE

THE SLEEPER ARCHIVE

PRIVACY.

The Sleeper Archive collects only the information needed to operate the Founding List, protect the service from abuse, and send Archive updates. The mailing list is self-hosted.

Information collected

When someone joins the Founding List, The Sleeper Archive records the email address, the page or source of the signup, the time of consent, and the version of the consent wording accepted.

The website also keeps a minimal anti-abuse and consent ledger using one-way hashed representations of the email address, IP address and browser user-agent. Raw IP addresses are not stored in that local consent ledger.

How it is used

Subscriber information is used to send meaningful Archive updates: physical-edition development, record reveals, production milestones and major releases. It is also used to honour unsubscribe requests, manage subscriber preferences, and protect the signup service from automated abuse.

The Founding List

The mailing-list database is hosted by The Sleeper Archive using listmonk and PostgreSQL. Messages are delivered through the project's authenticated mail account at [email protected].

Individual open and click tracking is disabled. The intention is to communicate, not to build behavioural profiles.

Consent records

The Archive keeps a minimal consent record so that it can establish when and how a subscription was requested. This record includes a timestamp, signup source, consent-text version, and hashed technical identifiers used for audit and abuse prevention.

A minimal hashed consent record may remain after an unsubscribe or subscriber-data deletion because it is maintained separately from the active mailing-list record.

Service providers

The Archive uses infrastructure providers for web hosting, content delivery, DNS/security, and authenticated email delivery. Those providers may process limited technical data as necessary to deliver the site and email service. Subscriber data is not sold.

Discord is a separate service. Joining the Archive Discord is optional and is governed by Discord's own account and privacy terms.

Your choices

Every Archive email includes a subscriber-specific Leave the Archive link. The subscriber page also provides data-export and data-deletion controls where available.

Unsubscribing stops future Founding List messages. A subscriber can also request removal or correction of personal information by contacting the Archive.

Security

The listmonk administration interface and its authenticated API are not exposed publicly. The website communicates with the mailing system through a restricted server-side API identity, and secrets are stored outside the public web root.
