THE FIRST TEN RECORDS MOVE FORWARD
The opening sequence is being rebuilt as one continuous visual journey: from Graham’s Cornwall to the scale and movement of the future city.
The first ten records cross the most important threshold in Archive 001. They begin in Graham’s own century — sea, stone, weather, tired flesh and ordinary rooms — and end inside a London whose infrastructure has become larger than any individual.
The work now is not to make every image look alike. It is to make the transition believable. Graham remains the same man while the visual world around him changes.
001–004 · Before the future
The opening records stay close to the old world. The tension comes from insomnia, stillness and time. Nothing needs to announce what is coming.
005–008 · Awakening
The future enters through disorientation. Light becomes colder, rooms become larger and more systematic, and Graham begins to understand that the people around him know a history in which he has become a public figure.
009–010 · London opens
The city finally becomes visible at full scale. Crowds, height and movement replace the intimacy of Cornwall. The Moving Ways are not decoration; they are part of the machinery through which this society organises daily life.
